Thoughts on course preparation
If the available teaching time is limited, here are some ideas and suggestions for implementation:
- Fake news is one of the most burning issues of our time. In order to combat fakenews, it is particularly important to enter into dialogue with the participants and to educate them in discussions. The focus should be on the following aspects:
- Basic understanding of the issue
- Characteristics of fakenews and recognition of fakenews
- In order to understand the problem sufficiently, it is important to shed light on the role of social media. Especially with regard to the targeted use of social media platforms for opinion making and the effect of filter bubbles / echo chambers.
- The following exercises can be used as an introduction to the topic. They should at least initiate discussion with the participants.
